BEN GRIFFIN

Chief Executive Officer

Ben is the founding partner of Geon Property (formerly Griffin Group) which he originated in 2004. Prior to this he practised as a solicitor for over 10 years, in both London and Brisbane. In charge of developments, Ben constantly seeks and closes new opportunities for Geon Property, those which focus and align with the business culture and values.

Ben’s passion for property development allows him to make the most of every project. His focus on placemaking and the community, ensures that every outcome is viable for all parties. He actively encourages leadership and initiative throughout the team; while his strong family background and tradition of operating family businesses has been instrumental in the creation and growth of the Geon Property brand. His ability to bring together numerous parts to make a successful whole is part of Geon Property’s core strength.

Ben ensures that key relationships are always maintained, and instills this value amongst the entire team.  By building a culture of autonomy and accountability, his open and collaborative approach is a key attribute to Geon Property’s philosophy.

Ben is an active community member, volunteering his time to support local school and community groups with his family.

BRUCE QUARTERMAN

Chief Financial Officer

After spending many years working as a Chartered Accountant with leading global firm, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Bruce moved away from the corporate sector in 2005 to join Ben as Director and Chief Financial Officer of Geon Property (formerly Griffin Group).

Bruce directs the financial elements of the business, thinking outside the box for financial solutions and strategies. He leads the team with a level head and a calm demeanor; directing the foundations for Geon Property’s diligent approach by striking the right balance between innovative design, on-time delivery, and the security of high returns on investment. Bruce’s superior project management skills and quality-control processes ensure Geon Property delivers maximum value for all stakeholders involved.

Bruce is an avid cyclist, who facilitates the active culture shared by the Geon Property team. His passion for competitive sports including tennis, golf, cycling and football is shared by many of the Geon team

TIM ROSSBERG

Senior Development Manager

With over 19 years’ experience as a Development Manager, Project Manager and Town Planner in both the public and private sectors, Tim’s wealth of knowledge and skill has seen him successfully realise several master-planned communities, including residential, commercial and industrial projects.

As Senior Development Manager, he guides his team with expertise and experience to achieve outstanding results. Tim is currently leading Geon Property’s largest project – the mixed-use, $750m Transit Oriented Development at Albion, Brisbane. His contribution to the Geon Property team is highly valued amongst teams members and shareholders alike, with his strong work ethic ensuring projects gain momentum.

Tim’s passion and dedication to health and fitness are paramount to his success in facilitating his work-life balance. His competitive spirit resonates well with intra-office sporting challenges.

JULIA FOSTER-MASSIE

Development Manager

Goal-orientated, driven, and dedicated, Julia has a passion for meaningful property development. Having worked across a number of residential subdivision projects in Northern NSW and Queensland, she was directly responsible for the successful delivery of the Western corridor’s first medium-density residential project, Park Avenue Apartments.

As part of the Geon Property team, Julia is currently leading the delivery of The Hive – Townsville; a catalytic $450m mixed-use development that represents the company’s focus on enhancing liveability and providing improved amenity in local communities across Queensland. The precinct includes a proposed cultural; tourism; marine science and research; commercial, and residential uses in the heart of the Townsville CBD.

With a passion for all things health and fitness related, Julia is an active member of the F45 community dedicated to work-life balance. Her can-do attitude is a complement to Geon Property’s core values.

GLEN WRIGHT

Development Manager

Having started his career in finance with one of Australia’s big four accounting firms, before going on to found his own marketing-advisory practice, Glen is now a Development Manager at Geon Property. His involvement includes business case development; leasing; investor relations; capital raising; construction, planning and design management.

Currently developing an ‘active’ entertainment and large-format retail precinct in Townsville, a medium-density (townhouse) residential project, and part of the team about to embark on Brisbane’s most-inspired Transport Orientated Development in Albion, Glen is passionate about bringing together people with purpose and creating places that matter.

Glen is an active member of the UQ Young Alumni Advisory Board with a core focus for members to share dreams, passions and expertise with one another.

DEVYN SMITH

Property Manager

Bringing with him a wealth of experience from a national Property Management group, Devyn is responsible for the Geon Property Management sector, ensuring both stakeholders and tenants are fully supported in all areas.

Devyn diligently handles all aspects of the sector, including contracts administration; lease options and renewals; repairs and maintenance; routine inspections; and income and expenditure budgets. He also leads the facilities management team whilst project managing major works and upgrades, as well as facilitating capital expenditure planning for each of his properties. Devyn creates value for the Geon brand by concisely cross- evaluating synergies between the three sectors of the business to enhance returns and improve efficiencies.

Actively playing rugby union, Devyn has a dedicated and passionate approach to everything he chooses to undertake both on and off the field.

DAVID SHEPPARD

Project Leasing Manager

Having commenced his property career in the early 2000’s, David brings to Geon Property extensive experience across the property sector.  David has spent the best part of a decade with a national commercial agency, followed by a wholesale funds manager where he focused on the leasing of one of Australia’s largest shopping centres. David’s successful leasing and management records in this sphere are indicative of his enthusiasm and professional approach.

As Project Leasing Manager, David works closely with the broader property management and development teams to ensure timely delivery of transactions with a focus on developing long term relationships with tenants.

When not in the office, David is a sports lover with a passion for Cricket, Rugby Union and Rugby League, whilst also a member of the Indooroopilly Golf Club.

SUSAN MERCER

General Manager of Marketing

As Geon Property’s General Manager of Marketing, Susan brings with her over 17 years of experience in marketing and business development within the property industry. Driven, detail-oriented and approachable by nature, Susan focusses on the creation and implementation of efficient strategy across marketing for all pillars and developments within Geon Property. By encouraging team collaboration and catering to optimised end-user satisfaction, she delivers results driven marketing at all levels.

With an expert knowledge base of architectural, engineering and construction elements of the property development process, Susan’s inclusive and ‘get things done’ approach adds value at vital milestones of every project undertaken by Geon Property.

Susan has an appetite for all things outdoors, including regularly paddling and hiking to uphold an important work life balance that aligns as part of the Geon Property company culture.

AMIT KALWAR

Finance Manager

With over 15 years of finance and commercial experience across various industries, Amit brings significant value-add to the business. Highly skilled in contracts management, pricing and negotiations, his commercial acumen and analytical skills have resulted in improved profit margins and maximised shareholder returns.

Amit is responsible for Geon Property’s overall financial and strategic management, defining the company’s strategic direction, preparing business plans, and streamlining financial policies and procedures to improve performance and productivity. His calm and respectful demeanour is well-valued between shareholders and team members alike.

Amit is an avid rugby league fan, passionately supporting the Brisbane Broncos throughout each season.

JILL MEE

HR Manager

Specialising in Human Resources recruitment, remuneration, staff retention, management coaching, employee relations and HR initiatives, Jill brings over 20 years of HR experience to Geon Property.  Leveraging off expert knowledge from a range of industries including funds management, professional services, health and tertiary organisations, her role is to ensure that all HR process and systems are implemented in the most efficient and effective manner across the business.

By focusing on the long-term benefits of employee satisfaction and strategy implementation, Jill’s hard-working approach and warming demeanor sees her as a perfect fit to the Geon Property culture. Integrating work/life balance comes naturally to Jill as she supports all team members of the Geon Property family on a daily basis.

LEONIE CLOTHIER

Project Manager (Brand and Design)

Leonie brings a wealth of talent & knowledge to the design and property arena, having worked in the industry for over 21 years. Upon completion of her B Built Env (Arch) degree at QUT, she began her professional career with JLL, prior to relocating to Shanghai for eight years in the residential and commercial development space. Leonie further developed her business acumen and used her property and design skills to design and start-up two hospitality based businesses here in Brisbane.

As Design and Brand Project Manager, Leonie’s combined design and property expertise ensures Geon Property’s developments are well thought-out, innovative, creating valued spaces and destinations. Her ability to think laterally, providing creative design solutions is a valuable asset to the team.

Leonie’s passion and creativity is a valued addition to the Geon team and offers a unique skill set to the development process. Whilst wishing she had more time to dedicate to personal health & fitness, Leonie treasures the love and support of her young family who keep her on her toes.

BRAYLEY TAYLOR

Marketing Coordinator

Brayley is an enthusiastic, highly motivated marketing and creative professional with a Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) (Hons) majoring in Interior Design from QUT. A dynamic young professional, Brayley is committed to project goals and objectives.

Brayley’s experience as a marketing coordinator in the property sector saw a key focus on the development of innovative marketing solutions to position a boutique company as a market leader.

Brayley combines her marketing experience in the property industry with her degree to support Susan and the Geon Property team to achieve outstanding results for the communities in which we work.

DEE CAMERON

Office Manager

Having over a decade of experience as a personal assistant, customer-relations manager, and operations manager in a variety of different fields, Dee is more than adept at ‘wearing many different hats’.

As Geon Property’s Office Manager, her extensive experience in administration; accounting; scheduling and relationship-management skills ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the office. Dee is also responsible for the support and streamlining of all office processes, including the continued evolution of efficiencies between the three pillars of the business. This is all backed by her can-do attitude and friendly demeanour. Her reliable and respectful nature is an attribute to the business valued by all members of the team.

Dee is dedicated to her family life, often enjoying the beautiful foreshore at Sandgate with her son on weekends.
