As Stage 4 of the Fairfield Homemaker Centre, this Large Format Centre is setting the standard for retail in North Queensland.
Aligned with our core values, at Geon we like to explore ways to create something unique for every community; something that communities can own and be proud of. We believe that the sum of many parts, whilst dismissed by others, can create a unique and memorable whole. We don’t just develop places, we like to curate and cultivate them. The CO:UP is a perfect example. It is a concept born of our ability to evaluate a community’s needs and join those that can best work together.
In this instance, the CO:UP is a hub which will provide people; from couples, to families, and individuals to groups, with a unique place which combines the elements of active performance and recovery. It’s a place where people gather, connect and build a community around staying active, keeping fit and focusing on overall wellbeing. It’s not a gym. It’s a place to compete, to play and to relax.
It’s a place to connect and re-connect.
The Retail Opportunity
Currently working with leading architect Hames Sharley and industry leaders on the concept, the CO:UP will entail a number of features including:
- Internal breezeways;
- Engaging/architecturally designed built form;
- Undercover parks/play areas;
- Lift access to 1st floor;
- All tenancies face the carpark;
- 360-degree signage opportunities; and
- Air-conditioning where required.
Initial Designs Concept incorporates 2-storey design layout with proposed floor plans including the following:
Ground Floor Opportunities:
- 250m2 – Suitable for a bicycle retailer;
- 320m2 – Suitable for swim school;
- 150m2 (maximum) – Suitable for a speciality café;
- 110m2 – Suitable pilates studio;
- 1,070m2 – Suitable for an active entertainment operator.
1st Floor Opportunities:
- 250m2 – 477m2 (5 tenancies of Varied Sizes) – Suitable for speciality or relaxation focused retailers such as day spa, exercise physiologist, podiatrist, tai chi, etc.
