Riverway Plaza is currently an open-air neighbourhood centre located in Rasmussen approximately 17 km south-west of the Townsville CBD. The centre is anchored by Woolworths (2,800 sqm) and accompanied by 500 sqm of speciality retail.
The proposed centre redevelopment is to include an expansion of the existing retail offering in two stages:
- Stage 1: Two national drive-thru fast-food tenancies
- Stage 2: New and expanded supermarket and supporting speciality retail (over 5,000 sqm)
Construction is scheduled to commence in 2018, supporting the local industry with the employment of approximately 200 local and subcontractor consultants. Riverway Plaza is also set to include facility upgrades for the community.
