RIVERWAY PLAZA

Riverway Plaza has been the heart of the Upper Ross community for over 30 years. Riverway Plaza is currently an open-air neighbourhood centre located in Rasmussen approximately 17 km south-west of the Townsville CBD.  The current centre is anchored by Woolworths (2,800 sqm) and accompanied by 500 sqm of speciality retail.

On behalf of the Manolis Family, Geon Property is excited to share plans for the expansion and redevelopment of Riverway Plaza. The new Riverway Plaza is set to transform the precinct into a contemporary, family-friendly centre.

The redevelopment is expected to generate up to 250 jobs during construction, with local builder Phoenix Constructions targeting 100% local trades.

To ensure minimal disruption to the community and retailers, construction will take place over two stages.

Currently under construction, Stage 1 includes:

  • A new, 3,536 sqm full-line Woolworths and 2 specialties including BWS.
  • New shaded, well-lit carpark.
  • New signalised entry off Riverway Drive providing easy and safe vehicle access.

Expected completion: Late 2020

Stage 2 includes:

  • Demolition of the existing Woolworths building will make way for further specialty stores, including many of those you know and love, along with new cafes and dining options, retailers and service providers.
  • Additional new shaded, well-lit carparks.

Expected completion: Mid 2021
