This $55 million development will see the transformation of Townsville West State School into a private hospital delivering a hub of health services to the local community. The development plans to restore and repurpose the heritage listed building into specialist medical suites, with a five-storey private hospital proposed to be built on the neighbouring 1600m2 vacant site located on Sturt Street and Ingham Road – less than 1km from the CBD.
